Rabbi Shlomo ben Adret, known to his student by the acronym of his name Rashba, was one of the most brilliant Talmudists of medieval Spain. Student of Nachmanides (Ramban) and teacher to the Ritva, his writings are studied to the present day.
Here’s Dr. Abramson in print (because there are times and places where one just can’t enjoy a video). Check out the eBook versions as well.
Dear Dr Abramson,
Thank you again for this wonderful video lecture. I am usually watching your videos on a weekly basis from Belgium.
I have just told my friend about this this week’s session about the Rashbo. He then wondered whether you have a video on Jewish Barcelona?
Regards from Antwerp,
Gershon
Dear Dr.Abramson, Great lecture! Where can one get Rashbas work translated into English? Thank you, Nanette
Dear Dr. Abramson,
my name is Joanna BenAdret and I am a direct descendent of the RASHBA. I was pleased to come across your lecture today. I have been searching for more information in English translations on the RASHBA and his specific teachings. I would love to organize a phone call with you and hear more about what you have learned on RASHBA.
Thank you so much, I look forward to your response!
All my best.
Hello Ms. BenAdret: I would be happy to speak to you about your illustrious ancestor. You may schedule a time by calling my assistant Ms Greenfeld at (718) 252-7800, x265. I am not, however, an expert on this topic by any means. I suggest you try Professor Ephraim Karnafogel at Yeshiva University. HMA
