I viewed your episode about the ” La Convivenia”. My grandfather used to tell me stories about our family and how we came from Barcelona Spain over a thousand years ago. We were money lenders for the living together or Cambistas according to my Grandfather. The Catholic princes owed a bunch of money according to my Grandfather they didn’t want to pay us so they came to where we were living and chased us out of Barcelona we were able to get out half the family was killed and made it to Granada. There my Grandfather said that Christian, Muslim, and Jew all along making money together. Then in the end the same Catholics from entered Granda and we fled to Safi then to EL jadida just south of Casablanca. We spoke Latino and only my Aunts my Mother’s family still speak it. My Hebrew name is Yosef Ben Halevi Del los Sephardiea. My Grandfather’s Hebrew name was Dauod Ben Halevi Del los Sephardiea.
P.S. To hear this my jaw and stomach hit the floor. Because, again Grandfather may not be that accurate. But, he was close enough.
