Nahmanides (Rabbi Moshe ben Nahman, or Ramban) was one of the most important thinkers of Jewish history. Brilliantly creative and intellectually courageous, his commentary on the Torah is widely studied eight centuries after his passing. AS always an excellent Shiur. Being apart more or less 100 years Rashi and Ramban I would have liked to hear more about his kabbalistics point of view at that time. Thank you again.

Yet again another fabulous lecture by Dr. Henry Abramson. Its very hard not to leave a reply because these lectures are not only informative but also entertaining, which helps me to remember the material covered in the lecture. Rabbi Joseph Telushkin’s book Jewish Literacy piqued my interest, and so I became interested in Jewish History. However, these lectures lead to to buy books about these great Rabbis. I bought a Siddur from Artscroll not just for the prayer services, but also to own a copy of Pirkei Avos because of the lecture on Rabbi Hillel the Elder. I’ve purchased books on Rashi and RaMBaM to learn more about them, and now I’m going to have to buy a book on RaMBaN because of what I learned in this lecture. My wife says I talk too much, and so this Reply is much too long. But, I have to say that I am disappointed in myself because I am an avid reader, and yet I didn’t discover just how meaningful and important not just to Jews, but also to non-Jews like me, is the legacy of Rabbinical thought. Please forgive the long reply, but thank you so much for offering these lectures for free on the internet. Like the song says, the best things in life are free (except of course for the books I’m buying from ArtScroll and a few other publishers). May HaShem richly bless you and yours.
